Turns out, this isn’t all there it is for the fans of the Galaxy far far away. There is a bunch of content for the fans. We will see Ewan McGregor making his return for Obi-Wan Kenobi, the spinoff featuring Cassian Andor from Rogue One, and the third season of The Mandalorian.

Obi-Wan Kenobi
Star Wars fans have been waiting patiently for any news about upcoming content. Thankfully, one of the first announcements was made about the highly anticipated show, Obi-Wan Kenobi. According to Disney Plus, the show is set to premiere on the 25th of May, 2022. The show will see the return of Ewan McGregor alongside Hayden Christensen, who will be reprising his role as Anakin Skywalker or Darth Vader, either of whom could show up in the series. The show will consist of six episodes and is being directed by Deborah Chow.
The show is expected to follow Obi-Wan Kenobi, some years after his arrival on Tatooine, where he is looking after a young Luke Skywalker from afar. Last we checked, the Jedi Order was betrayed by the Sith, and Palpatine has forced the remaining Jedis to go into hiding. The Inquisitors, under the command of Darth Vader, have been charged with hunting down any remaining Jedi and ensuring that they have all been killed. None of the other shows can come close to the hype that is surrounding the release of Obi-Wan Kenobi. Until its release, fans can revisit the prequel trilogy that focuses on the demise of Anakin Skywalker and his legendary fall to the dark side.
Andor
Fans may not have wondered how Princess Leia got her hands on the secret Death Star plans, but that didn’t stop Rogue One writer, Gary Witta from answering the question. The movie explained how the rebellion got their hands on the plans and all the sacrifices that were made in the process. The frequently overlooked movie gave us a glimpse into some very interesting characters, one of whom is getting their spinoff. Cassian Andor is one of the members of the Rebel Alliance and a spy. While we know how Cassian Andor’s story ends, the show will focus on his story five years before the events of Rogue One.
The show is set to release in late 2022 and will see the return of Diego Luna as Andor. This was one of the first shows announced by Star Wars, which means we are close to being given an actual date of its release. Unfortunately, the show was impacted by COVID-19 delays, but we may just finally get the chance to enjoy the twelve episodes that the show is slated to air. While fans may have to wait a while for this one, just be glad that season 2 is also due to start production this year.
The Mandalorian(Season 3)
When season 2 of Mandalorian ended, viewers had hundreds of questions about the show. What would Din Djarin do once Grogu left? Was he going to take up the responsibilities that came along with the Darksaber? Or would he simply return to his bounty hunter life? And would Mando have to face the consequences of pulling off his helmet, not once, but twice? Would CGI Luke become a regular in the series? Most of these questions were answered in episodes 5, 6, and 7 of the Book of Boba Fett that you can stream on Disney Plus.
Now that Grogu(spoiler alert) has chosen to return to his father and choose the path of a Mandalorian, the show has answered all the questions we had. Last we know, the Mandalorian and Grogu sped off into space, finally together again. The third season is estimated to be released in late 2022 and give us further insight on the road that Mando and Grogu will take.
Star Wars: The Bad Batch (Season 2)
The Bad Batch gave us further insight into the defective batch of clones, Clone Force 99, also known as the Bad Batch. The four defective clones, joined by Echo, ran of Kamino once they rescued Omega from the Kaminoan facility. The season ended with Crosshair being left behind by the rest of his team for choosing to work with the Imperials.
Dee Bradley Baker is set to return and voice the clones. Hopefully, we will also see the return of favorites such as Captain Rex, Gregor, and also introduce Commander Wolffe in the series. The independent troopers are dedicated to keeping Omega safe and the show will once again give us insight into the lives of clones, post order 66.
